Ticket availability update

Both performances of Nosferatu are now sold out. There is always the possibility of a seat or two coming available a few minutes before the performance due to changes in technical requirements, so you are welcome to come to the Roxy and standby. There’s no guarantee, though. Doors open at noon and at 6:30 pm. Standbys will be handled based on time of registration at the Will Call Desk in the lobby.

About the concert

One of the most powerful movies of the silent era, F. W. Murnau’s landmark vampire movie is a direct re-telling of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, with only the names changed. Max Schreck as the reclusive Count Orlok (Dracula) gives one of the creepiest performances ever captured on film. In time for Halloween, Noseratu features the return of Los Angeles silent movie pianist Rick Friend and conductor Brian Unverricht.

The powerful images on the screen, enhanced by the suspenseful music from Rick Friend and the SSO, performed live, is an experience to die for! Come dressed for the occasion, with your favourite cape, claws, and fangs. If travelling by hearse, plan to arrive early for best parking.

The historic Roxy Theatre, lovingly restored is one of the last remaining atmospheric theatres in western Canada and is one of the city’s architectural treasures. Recently converted to digital technology, the Roxy Theatre provides a movie-going experience reminiscent of the Golden Age of Hollywood without sacrificing comfort or the quality of projection or sound.
