Since its creation in 1996, the Flin Flon Community Choir has been a driving force in the Cultural life of Northern Manitoba and Northern Saskatchewan, comprised of a choral membership coming from both sides of the border, and programming serving the Flin Flon/Creighton’Denare Beach axis. With an alternating seasonal mandate to produce Classical Masterworks and Broadway Musical Theatre productions for Northern audiences, the FFCC has also been privileged to share the stage on several occasions with the Saskatoon Symphony. On other occasions it has also performed with the Winnipeg Symphony, the New England Chamber Orchestra in New York’s Carnegie Hall, and collaborated with many independent Canadian artists in varying capacities. The FFCC is proud of its Musical Theatre history, boasting production of many Broadway musicals and two original musical plays, the nationally recognized Bombertown and Three Brides for Kasos a hit at the 2005 Winnipeg Fringe Festival. Both works were created by Flin Flon Composer Mark Kolt. The FFCC is once again pleased to join fellow choristers and the Saskatoon Symphony in Carl Orff’s quintessential choral/orchestral masterpiece CARMINA BURANA.
