So , what are your feelings on last night's oscars.
Some seem to be enraged by the hurt locker winning over James Cameron's Avatar.
What are your thoughts?

This is such a great idea I hope to see more silent film events like this in Saskatoon in the future. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to enjoy Metropolis as it was originally intended so long ago.

A big tip of the hat to Victor Sawa and his Symphony colleagues who put on an amazing show at the Roxy Theatre tonight. My wife and I just returned to North Battleford after attending "Metropolis"; the weather a bit tricky on the ride home but, never mind, seeing "Metropolis" in the lovely confines of the Roxy with a first rate set of musicians playing the original score was an unforgettable experience for these film buffs.
Thanks very much for a wonderful, unforgettable evening of music and fine cinema.

Dear community members,
As two individuals who work in the arts in Saskatoon, we are writing to thank you all for bringing last night's production of Fritz Lang's Metropolis to musical life on the historic screen of the Roxy Theatre. It was more than just an amazing performance. It was an event, a celebration of great neighborhood, and we felt lucky to be there.
To the people at the Roxy Theatre and Magic Lantern, you folks are to be congratulated for contributing so much to the cultural life of the city. We observed that your screening of Metropolis was actually your third special event of this week alone. Just to have your historic theatre still extant and doing the business for which it was intended, despite the tumultuous times in the movie industry, is a remarkable act of cultural preservation.
To conductor Victor Sawa and the members of the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra, your performance of Gottfried Huppertz's score was like hearing the original language of film music for the first time. To feel the timpani boom as the villain approaches, to hear the theme emanate from real strings and horns — you can't get such emotion from Dolby speakers. Your vivid playing captivated a decidedly youthful audience in the Roxy on Friday night.
To the organizers at the Riversdale Business Improvement District, thank-you for having the vision to preserve culture and history while you promote business. Neighborhood flavor will never be available in a suburban mall, nor a deep sense of community. It was a quarter-century ago that the re-opened Broadway Theatre kick-started a core neighborhood revitalization. At the time, some of us felt that a small city was lucky to have just one "character" neighborhood. How wrong we were about that, and how much more vibrant Riversdale has become each year. Congratulations on your 20th anniversary.
