Tania Miller, conductor
with pianist Godwin Friesen

It was such a thrill for audience and orchestra when Tania Miller was last on our podium, we couldn’t wait long to have her back!

Saskatchewan-born Maestra Tania Miller takes to the stage to lead the musicians of the SSO in one of the greatest romantic symphonies ever written, Tchaikovsky’s lush Symphony No. 5.  Tchaikovsky 5 has always been one of the most loved pieces of classical music thanks to its emotional melodies and brilliant orchestration.

Saskatoon’s own Godwin Friesen had the chance to work with Maestra Miller in fall of 2019, and the two get to reunite right here at home for one of the season’s greatest showpieces.  Prokofiev’s 3rd Piano Concerto is playful, virtuosic, wild, and filled with heart-racing moments.

The evening kicks off with Traffic Jam by Juno nominated composer, and future Canadian composing star, Jared Miller.
