Maria Fuller, conductor
with Special Guests

An uneasy King trying to find his voice.  A couple of kids who fall in love on a boat.  A group of friends who set out on a journey of a lifetime.

A successful film captures the audience’s emotions, and a powerful score can help to inspire those feelings. Music can make us feel sad, hopeful, scared, anxious, or elated. Music provides us with cues about how we’re supposed to feel during a movie scene, and when it comes to movie music nothing can beat an orchestra in full flight.

Saskatchewan’s own Maria Fuller makes her SSO debut with this night exploring orchestral movie music.  Fuller is one of the rising stars of emerging Canadian conductors, and we can’t wait to showcase her with the SSO.

Get red carpet ready for this glamourous night featuring music from The King’s Speech, Titanic, Lord of the Rings, The Mission, and so much more!
