SSO Chorus

The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra Chorus began in 2014 with a performance of Messiah and has now grown to be a celebrated part of the SSO’s programming!

The Chorus, operated and organized by the SSO, was started to create a choral group dedicated to learning great oratorio and choral works for orchestra in a professional setting.  The Chorus has a limited rehearsal schedule; members of the chorus are expected to come to the first rehearsal with the music already learned so that the focus on the artistic elements of the works.

In the upcoming season, the SSO Chorus will be performing Handel’s Messiah, the Mozart Requiem with the Greystone Singers, and a Great Baroque Choruses concert.

The SSO Chorus is conducted by Duff Warkentin, a musician who has had a significant and varied career as a choral singer, conductor, clinician, and adjudicator.

  • We use this in emergency situations only.
We hope you're able to join us for all three!
We'll be setting the rehearsal schedule soon - as always we ask that everyone strive to attend every rehearsal as our we try to do only 3 or 4 rehearsals per concert. For the Mozart Requiem we will have the opportunity to rehearse with the Greystone Singers as well.

We’ll be in touch regarding audition opportunities.
