SSO Chorus

This October and December, the SSO Chorus is back to perform two separate concerts in Season 92! They will be performing Marianna Martines’ Dixit Dominus on October 16th, and Handel’s Messiah on December 16th and 17th. Both concerts will be led by conductor Cosette Justo Valdés.

The SSO Chorus is conducted by Duff Warkentin, a musician who has had a significant and varied career as a choral singer, conductor, clinician, and adjudicator.

Anyone interested in auditioning for this year’s chorus must sign up here before end of day on Thursday, September 8th. Auditions will be held at the Saskatoon Symphony Office located at 602B 51st Street (beside Minhas) on:

  • Monday, September 12th, beginning at 6:30pm (8 minute time slots)

To audition for both concerts, we are asking singers to prepare their vocal line for the Martines 7. Et in saecula and the Handel chorus “And He Shall Purify”.

We will provide vocal scores to the chorus for the Martines Dixit Dominus for the performance, but for audition purposes, click here for to download a PDF of the chorus score movement:

    • Friday, October 14 at 7:30pm
    • Saturday, October 15 at 10:00am
    • Saturday, October 15 at 2:00pm (dress rehearsal)
