This is one of our favourite times of year…no, not spring, but one season coming to a close with the anticipation of the next!
We are so lucky to have this community, and lately we have really been reflecting on what the SSO has come to be in the last few years. We’re so proud of what we have all built together – the musicians, the staff, the volunteers, and you, our supporters. Much like making music as an orchestra, this renaissance has been a giant team effort.
This has been a banner year for the SSO; from our landmark performances with Dame Evelyn Glennie and Kinan Azmeh, to new premieres, to new shows built for the amazing talent that is Saskatoon. Then there’s the unbelievable achievement of the single largest ever SSO Book and Music Sale!

We have one last effort together before we say goodbye to Season 95. Gifts to the SSO are matched by the profound generosity of Ellen Remai, through the Frank and Ellen Remai Foundation.
Our goal this May is to raise $200,000 to keep your orchestra thriving and on solid ground as we grow into our future. That would bring us to our year-end total of $500,000, with the Remai Foundation matching taking us over $1,000,000 raised this season.
Your support has allowed us to invest in our musicians, grow our administrative team, bring you sensational concerts, and continue to chart an ambitious course towards our 100th anniversary season.
To share our gratitude, we’re again throwing a donor appreciation concert on November 21st for the SSO’s 96th birthday. Every donation of $100 gets a free seat to a night of great music with your SSO and a host of surprise guest stars!

We hope you’ll join us in supporting an organization you love by making a gift to the SSO this May.
If you’ve already made your gift this spring, thank you so much! If you haven’t had a chance to yet, there is still time to share in the joy, hope, and community of supporting your orchestra.
Here’s to a brilliant season behind us, and an audacious season ahead!
See you at the symphony.
