Saskatoon Symphony Chamber Ensemble
Join the musicians of our Chamber Ensemble for a special concert in memory of Randi Nelson.
The feature of the afternoon will be the premiere of new work by Saskatoon composer Kendra Harder written for Mistral 5, the SSO’s wind quintet. Harder’s work has been showcased across Canada and she has been a recent favourite of Mistral 5, so there is much excitement around this event.
The rest of the program features pieces chosen by the performers in memory of our beloved friend Randi Nelson. Randi spent nearly five decades as Principal Flute with the SSO, and her impact will be felt for generations.

The SSO is reimagining the possibilities for what concerts we can bring to the stage for our 90th season and still address the risks and protocols required to ensure safety for musicians and audiences during the pandemic.
We’re trying something completely different this year – we’re taking a musical trip around the world, so each and every concert is a musical trip. To ensure that we can keep adapting to the Saskatchewan Public Health requirements, we’re planning trips a month or two at a time. So we’ll be constantly revealing concerts that are coming up!
Each concert will be available for live stream and video on demand through our new Digital Concert Stream.
While we’re on our musical trips there’ll be all sorts of special travel perks and virtual experiences through our InTune Blog!
