Cristina Pisani

Mercédès

Cristina Pisani is a vibrant soprano hailing from Mississauga and is thrilled to make her Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra and role début as Mercédès alongside her friends and colleagues at Carmen on Tap. Upcoming engagements include Christmas with Arcady, an annual Simcoe County festive tradition (Arcady) featuring new works by Ronald Beckett. Recent engagements include a reprise of the title role in Beckett’s Ruth (Arcady), choral performances in a pair of Queen Tribute Concerts (Jeans ‘n Classics), Herodias in Richard Strauss’s Salome (Opera by Request), the soprano soloist in Ralph Vaughan Williams’s Dona Nobis Pacem (Dundas Valley Orchestra/Chorus Hamilton), and a featured soloist at Tommy Tallarico’s Video Games Live (Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra). Her most often-performed role is Violetta in Giuseppe Verdi’s La traviata (Jeunesses Musicales Canada, Summer Opera Lyric Theatre, Mississauga Symphony Orchestra). Cristina began her musical training at the age of three with her mother and completed her MMus in Vocal Performance and Literature at Western University under the tutelage of Sophie Roland and Simone Luti. In her free time, Cristina is passionate about streaming on Twitch (@TheNESpa) where she hosts a series of high-spirited (often silly) retrospective playthroughs of iconic video game franchises through time.
