Trevor Chartrand

Orchestra

Dr. Trevor Chartrand is a Toronto-based pianist and vocal coach who has somehow built a thriving career by telling opera singers when they’re flat and doing it with flair. Internationally sought-after for his expertise in art song, opera, and devastatingly on-point feedback, Trevor helps young singers transform confusion into conviction, guiding them through style, diction, and interpretation with the precision of a surgeon and the sass of someone who’s absolutely heard that aria way too many times. Armed with a doctorate in collaborative piano and a reputation for being both brutally honest and unnervingly supportive, Trevor has worked across Canada and in France, shaping the next generation of performers while keeping rehearsals just the right amount of unhinged. He’s the go-to coach for singers who want to level up, not melt down, and for those who can handle a little truth with their tempo. At home, he’s accompanied by his rescue dog Coda, a Maltese mix with diva energy and no patience for bad phrasing. Together, they believe music is sacred, but rehearsals are fair game for sarcasm.
