Sarah Slean Sings The music of Joni Mitchell
Karl Hirzer, conductor

Scroll down to read the full program.

To celebrate Joni Mitchell’s 80th birthday, the SSO teams up with Sarah Slean to explore music from Mitchell’s albums Both Sides Now and Travelogue.

Joni Mitchell has gained a reputation as one of the greatest musical artists of all time – it’s extra special to be able to showcase this performance here at the singer-songwriter’s hometown.

Our 2018 performance of Mitchell’s music with Slean was a landmark first live performance of Vince Mendoza’s beautiful orchestrations – this new concert pairs favourites like A Case of You and Both Sides Now with classics like River, Blue, and Circle Game.
