Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra
Eric Paetkau, Music Director
2021 marks the 300th anniversary of Bach’s Brandenburg concertos – and it was a landmark anniversary that we didn’t want to miss!
Maestro Eric Paetkau leads the SSO through some of the most exceptional music ever written in this concert featuring three of the Brandenburgs. Bach captured a musical lightning bolt of joy in these works and on top of being brilliantly written, they are works of stellar virtuosity that allow us to showcase Principals of the SSO.
The SSO Brass join us for this concert because Bach and brass should go hand in hand! They’ll be playing a couple of favourites to help us on this musical journey back to this celebration of Brandenburg!
Program will include Brandenburg Concertos 2, 3, and 5.

The SSO is reimagining the possibilities for what concerts we can bring to the stage for our 90th season and still address the risks and protocols required to ensure safety for musicians and audiences during the pandemic.
We’re trying something completely different this year – we’re taking a musical trip around the world, so each and every concert is a musical trip. To ensure that we can keep adapting to the Saskatchewan Public Health requirements, we’re planning trips a month or two at a time. So we’ll be constantly revealing concerts that are coming up!
Each concert will be available for live stream and video on demand through our new Digital Concert Stream.
While we’re on our musical trips there’ll be all sorts of special travel perks and virtual experiences through our InTune Blog!
