FREE EVENT

The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra’s Chamber Ensemble is presenting a free concert at the newly renovated Grosvenor Park Church. We’re thrilled to showcase this space in Saskatoon after their renovations that have made the space even more accessible and open to the community.

Repertoire for the concert includes a work by Saskatoon’s own Kendra Harder, Trio for Oboe, Bassoon, and Double Bass. The SSO’s String Quartet will open the concert with Mozart‘s String Quartet in D Major, K 575. The piece, nicknamed The Violet, is the first of the composer’s Prussian Quartets and is full of charm and beautiful melodies.

The concert concludes with the Nonet in E flat Major by French composer Louise Farrenc. A gem of chamber music repertoire, the Nonet showcases her intricate orchestrations to the sonorous textures. An exciting chamber work that we can’t wait to share with you!

Doors open at 1:30pm. The concert’s run time is about one hour.
This is an in-person event only – streaming is not available for this concert.
